New Volvo MD, Chris Wailes, Leads Volvo to be the Fastest Growing Luxury Car in Thailand.

Chris Wailes, Managing Director, Volvo Car (Thailand) Ltd., revealed, “Volvo is the world class luxury car brand from Sweden, with a long history of over 90 years. With the potential and strength of our global leadership in safety innovation that works to protect every life on the road, Volvo has become the trustworthy brand worldwide. In Thailand, we are ranked as number 3 within the luxury car segment. Our ambition is to make Volvo the fastest growing premium car brand in Thailand. This is definitely a challenging mission which will drive our profitable growth by providing a class leading customer experience in Thailand.

We now evolve in a totally new way to purchase product and services. Customer behavior is changing, people shop differently now. More and more people are shopping online and using their smart phones.

To manage this new market environment, Volvo Car Thailand will enrich the buying experience with new online technologies, we will be closer to our customers with a high focus on customer service at both retail and customer service with high retailing standards through display and customer interaction.

To reach our goals, we will develop our strategy on 3 axes:

  1. Sales strategy. Our target is to become the number one brand in customer satisfaction, with world class service, provided through our dealerships. This year, we adjust our sales strategies and we will develop a stronger proximity to Thai customers by appointing two new dealers in Bangkok which are Prestige Motorcars Co., Ltd. and Merck Auto Co.,Ltd. These new showrooms will be located on Wireless road and Chaengwattana road, designed on Volvo Retail Experience (VRE) concept showrooms. The VRE concept is in accordance with the principles of the Volvo Retail Experience which as part of the Volvo Car Group's transformation since the start of 2014 has become the worldwide standard for the design of all Volvo partner companies. The showroom space provides a new concept for displaying Volvo models as well as a comfortable lounge, coffee bar and other exhibition items.

  1. Customer service strategy. At Volvo, we adhere to our strategy in customer service as our core. This year, we initiate ‘Volvo Personal Service” (VPS) Volvo Cars’ new concept is based on the 3 core sectors: Personal Service Technician (PST), Multi-skilled Team (MST) and Lean Management (LEAN). in order to increase efficiency. Volvo is the first in the automotive world to take an entirely new approach to how service and repair is performed in the workshop. Volvo redefines car maintenance, an area where the way of working hasn’t really changed for decades.  The launch of VPS complements and upgrades Volvo’s after-sales service including a series of initiatives, aiming to provide customers with high-quality and time-efficient service in a more professional and unified manner. With the new way of working, the Volvo workshop will be able to reduce the lead times to less than half, which will also lead to more satisfied customers. Instead of one technician working on the car, several technicians work together as a focused team – like in a racing pit-stop. In this way, the work can be done more efficiently and always 100% correct from the start since routines and quality checks are foolproof. In addition, all customers get their own Personal Service Technician who is dedicated to them and their car.  Since the job takes so short time, customers can wait while it’s done, and spare themselves the trip from the workshop and back. Instead they can relax in a comfortable lounge, have a coffee, read a paper or perhaps go online with their laptop via the free Wi-Fi. Or take a stroll in the showroom, test drive a new model or discuss their car ownership with the dealer personnel.

Last but not least, we also plan to train all employees to understand the brand, as well as the technical knowledge that will be beneficial to customers, to create confidence and gain their trust from their first steps into the show room.

  1. Marketing & Product strategy: Volvo cars is recognized to be a company with purpose from a global perspective, Everything we do starts with people. We understand people. We protect what’s important to them and want to make them feel special. We take pride in our role within society and recognise our commitment towards the environment. We innovate to make people’s lives better and less complicated. Our human-centric focus is what makes us different from all other car companies, and it is at the heart of everything we create.

We reinforce our purpose through strong commitments:

  • Our vision that no one should be seriously injured or killed in a new Volvo car by 2020
  • Volvo Cars to go all electric from 2019 onwards
  • Our commitment to put 1 million electrified vehicles on the roads by 2025
Chris Wailes, Managing Director, Volvo Car (Thailand) Ltd. , revealed,“as a premium car brand, Volvo has the highest growth potential in Thailand, especially with its new models that carry the unique Scandinavian identity and world-class safety innovation. Most importantly, we are dedicated in working towards our vision to build a true car of the future. We are the first premium car brand to announce that from 2019 onwards, all new Volvos will be powered by electrified plug-in hybrids or fully electric Volvo. Our ambition is to be the Brand Leaders in Innovative Safety, Autonomous Driving and Electrification”

Volvo has started its global brand transformation in 2015 and it is now visible in Thailand. Jean-David Harel, Marketing & Product Director, Volvo Car (Thailand) Ltd., explained that “As Volvo Car Thailand transforms itself, we want people to know we change and WE GO FORWARD. With the recent introduction of new models providing premium driving experience with innovative safety features and luxury specifications, we show the way we care for our customers, the way we care FOR YOU. This is the reason why we launch in March 2017 our new Brand strategy “We go forward, for you.”

This new brand direction We Go Forward, For You is supported by a very dynamic product portfolio management with the launches of the new luxury sedan S90, the launch of the premium estate the new V90 and very recently in August 2017 with the launch of the new S90 T8 Twin Engine AWD plug-in hybrid delivering 407 hp.

“Volvo introduces the all-new S90 T8 Twin Engine AWD plug-in hybrid with the intention to excite the Thai market again, as the leader of luxury car brands which announces their stance in promoting electric cars as its worldwide agenda and responds directly to the policies of Thai government. At the same time, the price of the all-new S90 range starting from 3.09 million baht is set to attract premium customer segment who prefers the unique look of the Swedish design concept.”

The launch of the S90 Twin Engine AWD plug-in hybrid is a crucial milestone to demonstrate Volvo Car Thailand commitment to bring very rapidly new Volvo models powered by electric engine to Thai customers. To improve our Brand awareness, we launched a powerful Marketing campaign highlighting how powerful and pure the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid can be with a specific campaign direction Pure Power and the #s90t8 at the center as our campaign as facilitator for consumers to share our message. This Marketing campaign responds to the way people consume communication and will highly digital to bring them to our new website and new car configurator. WE want to make people life easier for our customers and are determined to provide the most intuitive purchasing experiences, through digital leadership of our website and e-commerce.

2018 will be very exciting for Volvo Car Thailand with numerous new models launches and innovative Brand activations. We want to bring to Thai customers the best of the Volvo Way.

It has risen to 7.72 million baht per day after the Tao Poon-Bang Sue linked station opened in August. This positive result will lead to a significant increase in BEM’s turnover in the second half of 2017compared to the same period last year,” added Dr.Sombat.
In the firsthalf of 2017, total revenue were 7,505 million baht – 2,230 million baht from that amount came from metro business – with net profit of 1,432 million baht, or 18.54%increase year-on-year.

Additional station staff will be added to offer smooth service during rush hours

"STADIUM ONE" Bangkok’s Iconic New Lifestyle-Sports Community

STADIUM ONE is Thailand’s lifestyle sports community—the country’s first, and Southeast Asia’s largest, lifestyle hub for the health-minded. A 200-million-baht investment, this new city-center landmark serves as a one-stop-shop for all sporting and healthy conveniences while paying homage to the neighborhood’s famed athletic past.

STADIUM ONE is a brainchild of four sports-loving executives who want to promote an active lifestyle and watch the neighborhood thrive as an athletic, health-conscious community, says Sittichai Srisanguansakul, STADIUM ONE’s Executive Director. They founded The Sports Society, which later won a bid for a 1.6-hectare concession from Chulalongkorn University by emphasizing the neighborhood’s past as a gathering ground for sports enthusiasts. Being in the heart of the city also means the area is blessed with convenient transport options, making it the perfect, all-in-one sports center.
"We aim to make this space a true sports center. That’s why we’ve invested more than 200 million baht to construct a new, iconic building that would embody this whole idea. Not only will it be Thailand’s first and Southeast Asia’s largest healthy-lifestyle hub, but also offer the most complete recreational experience, from clothing and sneakers to outdoor and indoor exercises. We’re confident Stadium One will attract as many as 10,000 health enthusiasts a day and become one of the top hot-spots for fitness-lovers."
Business partners rest assured. Thanomkiat Summavuthichai, STADIUM ONE’sExecutive Director, says sports and health-related businesses can sustain continuous growth for many years to come. That’s because more and more people are making health their priority. Plus, the market for health- and sports-related products and services is perpetually growing.

"In Thailand, spending on health and sporting goods have been rising annually for the last five years and especially surging these past two to three years. The growth is an average of 8% a year. In a way, this number could strengthen investment confidence. But this isn’t just a worthwhile investment; it helps foster a community for active and health-conscious people."

STADIUM ONE was created under the "Stadium of Life" concept, says Natapak Rekijtisirikul, STADIUM ONE’s Director who’s also in charge of architecture and aesthetics. The building is a smooth synthesis between technique and creativity. Sports-inspired curves gently loop around the building before finishing its course at the activity zone. Propping up these curves are tree-shaped pillars to match the greeneries in Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park next door. Futuristic steel and glass panels give this standout structure an airy look and feel. The complex is split into two main sections: Shop House is where sports retailers showcase their merchandises—clothing, shoes, sporting goods—and is complete with a 2,000-square-meter activity area; Active Box, with its high ceiling, is the perfect location for indoor exercise studios, like fitness centers, boxing gyms, yoga schools—any indoor workout classes.

Overall, according to Pongwat Tiyapornchai, STADIUM ONE’s Director, people are interested in renting out the commercial space. More than 70% of businesses, both big and small, see this lucrative location as an opportunity to expand their operations. Warrix, a Thai sports brand, has chosen STADIUM ONE as the site of its new flagship store, which will spread across nine retail rooms and three levels with a combined space of 1,500 square meters. This will also be Warrix’s first official store in Thailand, housing its largest inventory of more than 20-million-baht worth of goods. There’ll also be SCG Express, an express package delivery service co-founded by Japan’s package delivery expert Yamato Group. The shop will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., but plans for 24-hour operation are in the works. Leading shoes and sportswear brand Mizuno will be opening a flagship store here as well.

“In terms of publicity, we’re working nonstop to raise awareness about the complex, both online and offline. On top of that we will host a range of activities at One Arena every single week to attract and increase the number of visitors. Such events include a city-center half marathon, Samsung Galaxy 10K event, the launch of Thailand national football team’s kit, for example.” Pongwat says.

STADIUM ONE is situated at the intersection of Rama 1 Road and Banthat Thong Road, near National Stadium and Thephasadin Stadium. It adjoins Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park, a 4.8-hectare public park. The complex can house 129 retail stores across its 5,000 square meters. Inside, there are the retail section, the exercise-studio section and the 2,000-square-meter activity area, which are further sorted into six zones of retail shops; running and cycling; sporting stores; food and drink; health; and family. Provided facilities include locker rooms, shower rooms, a 150-car parking lot and a surrounding parking area that can hold up to 700 cars.
Those interested in renting the space please contact our sales office at 09-7031-1222 or sales@stadiumone.net. To learn more about the whole complex, please visit www.stadiumone.net

British Heritage Meets LifeWear in a 33-Piece Collection Launching in September
September 21, 2017 - UNIQLO today unveils its new collaboration line with JW ANDERSON, an internationally renowned fashion brand from London. The fall/winter 2017 range comprises 33 pieces for men and women, and it will roll out at selected UNIQLO stores and UNIQLO.com/th
The new line features British classics that combine the signature bold and graphic design esthetic of JW ANDERSON with UNIQLO's excellence in fabrics, fit and functionality. The result is a collection that offers the best of British styling that is at once traditional and modern while providing daily lifestyle options for men and women of all ages.

Commenting on the launch of the much anticipated line, Jonathan Anderson, the founder of JW ANDERSON, said, “For me, the point of doing this collaboration was that I believe in democracy in fashion, and what I hope will be achieved is that any age demographic can pick up and find something within the collection to relate to. Doing something with UNIQLO is very interesting. It means you come up with a wardrobe which is universal and quirky.”

He added that, “I think what UNIQLO and JW ANDERSON have in common is the idea of ‘making a new product’. That’s always fascinating. The idea of reducing something to its essence is a very Japanese cultural thing. It can be culturally, textile, or silhouette driven, but it’s about the idea of reducing something down so that you can create the most impact.”

Yuki Katsuta, Senior Vice President of Fast Retailing and Head of Research and Design at UNIQLO, said, "This line embodies our shared vision of offering elegance, simplicity, timeless comfort, and individuality through LifeWear. The inspiration for much of the clothing we wear today was the uniforms, work wear, and sportswear that originated in the British Isles. We have combined the energy, creativity, and traditional touches of JW ANDERSON with our fit, fabrics, and functionality, as part of our quest to craft wardrobe essentials that are enduringly appealing."
Design is a key focus for the collection, notably through such classics as a double-breasted belted Trench Coat, the Wool Blended Quilted Jacket, the Fair Isle Sweater, and the Striped Scarf. The UNIQLO and JW ANDERSON Trench Coat is accented by a tartan lining. A selection of down jackets, shirts, and padded tote bags also employs tartan. The new collaboration line includes multi-border cut and sewn pieces, knits, and stoles in vivid hues, as well as ruffle blouses and skirts. Such items as the Wool Blended Quilted Jacket and the Padded Tote Bag, feature a faux leather patch with the anchor logo, for an unmistakably JW ANDERSON touch.
The entire 33-piece collection incorporates traditional British materials combined with UNIQLO trademark fabrics. There are Tweed coats in signature herringbone and shirts in extra fine cotton that feels smooth and natural, as well as knits in Extra Fine Merino for an elegant, glossy sheen.
The silhouette is also a key feature for the line. The lookranges from long coats with contemporary button and waist belt styling to jackets that give a modern, slim and sophisticated look but also allow for layering, and includes a turtle neck sweater with boxy silhouette and an oversized knit dress.
Keeping people as warm as possible is another central consideration. Examples include HEATTECH scarves and down jackets that employ ribbed cuffs and feature zipper tape so people can keep gloves on as much as possible in winter.
About the JW ANDERSON brand

At first an elaborate collection of accessories, it quickly attracted attention and enabled the fledgling label to show on-schedule during the 2008 London Fashion Week season. Stellar is a contemporary and multi-concept steakhouse embracing timeless traditions with a modern twist, serving only the best and most premium cuts of beef. It features private dining rooms including a cooking studio, wine, and cheese room and a separate teppanyaki micro restaurant offering premium cuts from Japan. Stellar’s standout highlight is its in-house meatsmith service – a first for Hanoi – where the restaurant’s resident butcher and meat expert guides diners through the cuts of in-house-aged meat, from the butchery. Similar to a sommelier recommending suitable wines, the meatsmith will give diners one-on-one and personalised attention, guiding them through the intricacies of the cuts, the provenance of the meats and marble grading followed by on-the-spot carving and grilling the meats to perfection right by the dining table.
