Proposed Listing of New Shares of LINE Corporation on the TSE and the NYSE

Tokyo, Japan – June 10, 2016 – The Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. approved today a new listing of shares of common stock of LINE Corporation. LINE Corporation also plans to file a registration statement on Form F-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC”) on June 10, 2016 (New York time) for a proposed initial public offering in the United States, which is to be made in connection with a new listing of American Depository Shares (“ADSs”) representing shares of its common stock on the New York Stock Exchange.

LINE Corporation expects the listing of its ADSs on the New York Stock Exchange to occur on or around July 14, 2016 (EST) and the listing of its shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange to occur on or around July 15, 2016 (JST), subject to approvals by relevant authorities, the declaration of effectiveness of the registration statement by the SEC and the completion of other necessary procedures, as well as market conditions.

LINE Corporation has made the decision to go public in both Japan and the United States to further enhance its strong position in Asia and to continue a more active global expansion.

    Ministry of Commerce, Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Thailand Institute of Design and Innovation Promotion, present DEmark Show 2016, finalists from DEmark Award 2016 to be showcased at Siam Paragon for the general public to see amazing designs during 6-9 July 2016. Through collaboration with Siam Piwat, the Object of Desire Store (O.D.S) is set up at Siam Discovery to present selected products from 160 brands to make DEmark products more accessible for consumers.
Deputy Director General of DITP, Ministry of Commerce, Ms. Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat said, “The Design Excellence Award (DEmark) has been held for nine consecutive years. The aim is to promote Thai products to be internationally recognized. We try to encourage Thai companies and Thai designers to improve their products and services by adding creativity in terms of functionality and aesthetics, as well as creating a brand that is unique, outstanding, and different. Design Excellence Award (DEmark) is a project that has helped Thai designers and Thai brands compete with other countries. Over the past eight years, we have seen Thai designers continue to improve and there are many new Thai brands with creative design proven by DEmark. DEmark is a symbol of design excellence. To date, 568 items have been granted DEmark, impressing both Thai and foreign consumers. Thailand is transforming into a creative economy, and this will help lead to sustainable growth in international trade with Asean and international markets, as today the market is driven by ideas.”
DEmark 2016 is under the concept “Design-Driven Business” to highlight the fact that Thailand is now a creative economy and to show the Asean and international markets that Thai products are creative, unique and different. These are the strengths of Thai products. Meanwhile, it also serves to encourage other businesses to see the importance of adding creativity into their products and services in order to compete. This year, DITP partners with Siam Piwat to open O.D.S at Siam Discovery as a retail channel for Thai brands which have won DEmark and other design awards in the home décor category, totaling more than 160 products.

Kathathong Thongyai, Director of Thailand Institute of Design Promotion, Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, said, “DEmark Show 2016 brings together designs by Thai designers and companies who have submitted their ideas for DEmark 2016. It is a public exhibition open for everyone to come explore. This year, there are 616 entries from 330 applicants. There are six categories, namely 1) Industrial Process/Industrial Craft, 2) Gift & Decorative Items/Household Items, 3) Fashion Apparel/Leather Goods/Jewelry/Textile, 4) Home Appliances/Equipment and Facilities for Office, 5) Food Packaging/Health & Beauty Packaging, and 6) Font/ Graphic on Surface/Digital Media/Identity Design.
     DEmark Show 2016 will take place during 2-9 July 2016 at the Lifestyle Hall, 2/F, Siam Paragon. On July 4-5, the panel of judges of DEmark 2016 visited and rated the products in each category. On that day, design experts from Thailand and Japan namely, G-Mark representative Mr. Yoshiaki Irobe, and Mr. Kazushige Miyake, from Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP). UNHCR’s celebrity supporters unveil artworks for NAMJAI FOR REFUGEES campaign

Bangkok, 11 July, 2016 (Bangkok) – After months of creative collaboration, a group of Thai celebrities are now ready to unveil their artworks in support of refugees in Thailand on Saturday 23 Julyat Atrium 1, 1st floor of Siam Center.
The project started in January, when the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) joined hands with eight celebrities including Praya “Pu” Lundberg and Saharat “Kong” Sangkapricha to launch the NAMJAI FOR REFUGEES campaign. NAMJAI means generosity in Thai.
The celebrities were divided into four teams and received generous donations from the Thai public to complete four different missions. Today, they have completed their projects and are ready to present their artworks to donors who support their teams:
  • Well-known actress and model Praya “Pu” Lundberg and eminent designer Jirat “Sanchai” Subpisankul will present a limited edition T-shirt to highlight the situation of  refugee women
  • Famous musician Saharat “Kong” Sangkapricha and best-selling songwriter  Jakrawut “Van” Sawangpol will play a special song they composed for refugees
  • Heartthrob actor Sunny Suwanmethanont and renowned sit-com director Piyakarn “Mook” Budprasert will screen a short video they produced on how to pay NAMJAI forward
  • High-profile editor and writer Wongthanong “Nong” Chainarongsingha and talented illustrator Pattarida “Pang” Prasarnthong will show a special book they created about refugees.  
These artworks will be unveiled by their celebrity creators on Saturday July 23at Atrium 1, 1st floor of Siam Center.  The event will provide a rare opportunity for fans to meet their favorite celebrities as part of a three-day event for the NAMJAI FOR REFUGEES campaign that will also feature interactive games and activities to promote Thai people’s generosity for refugees.
“This important event aims to express our gratitude for the generosity of Thai people and to encourage more people to help improve the lives of refugees in Thailand, including the Myanmar refugee children and women living in nine border camps, some of them for over 30 years,” stated Ruvendrini Menikdiwela, Representative of UNHCR Thailand.

The main aim of this 9th event is to search for the talented Thai engineering students to join the IDC RoBoCon 2016, which will be held in Thailand, to systematically train and create personnel in the fields of robots and automation to cope with the expansion of the manufacturing and service industries. Students participating in the contest will also learn to work together as a team with their colleagues from other institutions. The contestant who designs and creates a robot that performs best in the competition will be declared the winner. All the 72 students will attend a 20-day workshop at the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University prior to the final round which will take place on July 25, 2016 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.   

dtac announces THB0.42 per share dividend

July 12, 2016– dtac reports total revenues and net profit for the first half of 2016 of THB41.5 billion and THB1.4 billion, respectively, and declares a dividend payment of THB0.42 per share. Postpaid subscriber base and revenues continue to grow strongly as a result of improving network quality and perception, best offers in the market, attractive handset campaigns, and expansion of dtac retail shops. In Q216, dtac registered postpaid net adds of 191k subscribers and 9.2% growth of revenues from postpaid segment. The prepaid segment has been facing several challenges, including widespread handset subsidies, aggressive Mobile Number Portability campaigns, and continuing trend of prepaid subscribers migrating to postpaid. Despite strong growth in the postpaid segment, total service revenues excluding IC for H116 declined 2.2% from the same period last year. Excluding the impact from accounting adjustment of prepaid revenue in Q216, the decline of total service revenues excluding IC during H116 would have been 1.7%.  Revenues from data services, representing 54% of service revenues excluding IC in H116, continue to be the main growth driver. dtac, with a strong spectrum portfolio of 50MHz bandwidth, is well positioned to capture the growth of data demand and provide best wireless services to its customer base on 2G/3G/4G technologies.

dtac installed 17,388 additional 3G/4G base stations during the last 12 months. At the end of Q216, dtac’s 4G service covered all 77 provinces and is on track to cover all 878 districts in Thailand by the end of Q316. On 4G-1800MHz, additional 5MHz of bandwidth has been reallocated from 2G service in BMA, resulting in dtac having the widest contiguous 4G bandwidth on a single frequency band. All customers with 4G-enabled devices are able to enjoy the best 4G experience in the market. In addition, network quality and perception have gradually improved along with the expansion of the network. As a result, the number of 4G subscribers increased to 3.5 million at the end of Q216 from 1.3 million a year ago. The total subscriber base stood at 25.0 million, more than 92% of which had already been registered under DTN. Besides network improvements, dtac launched ‘dtac Music Infinite’ and the ‘dtac prepaid’ brand to offer attractive and relevant services for digital lifestyles. New products and services will be launched on a regular basis to help dtac become the No. 1 digital brand in Thailand.

In Q216, dtac increased spending on prepaid handset subsidies to defend market position. Furthermore, selling, marketing and general administrative expenses, excluding the one-time restructuring cost, were well under control despite the high level of competition. Cost of services also declined from lower regulatory costs, which was partially offset by higher network OPEX. As a result, EBITDA margin for the first half of 2016 went up to 33.6%, compared to 31.5% in the same period last year. Moreover, depreciation and amortization expenses went up due to continued investment in the network. Consequently, H116 net profit declined 62% from previous year.

We have revised our outlook for 2016 to reflect the actual results in H116. The outlook for 2016 comprises (1) slight decline in service revenue excluding IC from last year, (2) EBITDA margin in the range of 31-33%, and (3) similar CAPEX level as last year.

Lars Norling, dtac’s Chief Executive Officer, said “We are pleased to see the continuation of strong growth in the postpaid segment. This reflects the improvement in network quality and perception, and our efforts to offer customers the best Internet experience, attractive and relevant digital services, and value-for-money. In addition, data revenue growth has also accelerated, mainly driven by video and music streaming services. We have a strong spectrum portfolio and are well positioned to capture the data growth. Moreover, we have allocated 20MHz of 1800MHz frequency band, the largest in the market, to provide 4G service in BMA, and plan to expand the 4G network to cover all 878 districts in Thailand in order to serve the strong growth in demand for mobile Internet. In addition, we will maintain our value-for-money position on price plans, topping packages, and handset deals.

Spectrum is not a short-term concern as we already have a strong spectrum portfolio with 50MHz bandwidth. Moreover, we have every intent to participate and win additional spectra in future auctions. We would also like to encourage the regulator to put forward a clear spectrum roadmap for the industry in order for all players to better make a long-term business plans.”
